E64:When Luxury Becomes Normal
We rarely think twice about turning on a faucet, flipping a light switch, opening the refrigerator, taking a hot shower, or adjusting the temperature in our homes. But many of the things that feel completely ordinary today were once considered luxuries.
After watching 1883, Bala started thinking about how quickly extraordinary things can become normal once they become part of everyday life.
This episode is a reflection on the conveniences, technology, and simple comforts surrounding us every day—not to compare our lives to anyone else's or tell us what we should be grateful for, but to simply notice what we've stopped noticing.
Sometimes luxury isn't only something we're still trying to attain.
Sometimes it's something we've already gotten so used to having that we no longer recognize it as luxury.
